Plastic Free

Updated: May 12, 2021

Our goal is to provide you with an amazing experience through our promise of plastic-free packaging and shipping.

Here at EcoZen, we pride ourselves in staying #sustainable and #ecofriendly. One way in which we are making this our primary focus is investing in zero-waste, plastic-free shipping.

Single-use plastics are one of the greatest contributors to marine and land pollution; this is only furthered by the fact that less than 8% of plastic is recycled within the United States. What does this mean for the environment? In terms of marine life, scientists have now recorded the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a gyre of plastic and garbage 3x the size of France floating in the Pacific Ocean. According to research by The Ocean Clean, 84% of the plastic in the patch contains chemical pollutants. Not to mention, each ocean on Earth actually has its own plastic patch, all of which are continuously growing.

Micro-plastics, an example of which is glitter, are engulfed by micro-invertebrate (e.g. krill). Micro-invertebrate serve as a base for the food chain which means that micro-plastics can make their way up the food chain, eventually affecting humans. More than 180 species of animals have been documented to have ingested plastic debris. Chemicals added to plastics that reach humans, whether through means such as that found in animals or even the plastics in which food is stored, can be absorbed by human bodies as proven by chemical migration. Thousands of tons of micro-plastics end up in our soil and water each year.

The best way to become an environmental warrior is to take it one step at a time, and here at EcoZen, we want to help! By choosing to invest in #plasticfreeshipping, we are consciously working to make sure that you can limit your plastic use one step at a time.
